Start with an offer someone can understand
Before choosing an advertising platform, explain the offer in plain language. What is being sold, who is it for and why would that person choose it? A campaign cannot resolve an offer that remains unclear after the click.
Review pricing, availability and any conditions that affect the purchase. For a service, explain the scope and how someone can enquire. For a product, make the information needed to buy easy to find.
Match the ad to the landing page
The destination should continue the promise that earned the click. If an ad introduces a specific service, send visitors to a page that explains that service rather than asking them to search through a generic homepage.
Review the first screen, the supporting details and the main action. Remove unnecessary steps, but keep the information a customer needs to make an informed decision. A shorter page is not always a clearer page.
Define the conversion that matters
A click, a form submission and a qualified sales conversation are different events. Decide which outcomes matter to the business and how you will check their quality.
Make sure enquiry routes actually work. If a form only opens an email draft, that action is not proof that a message was sent. If a form submits to a system, verify receipt before treating the flow as ready for advertising.
Make room for learning in the budget
Discuss margins, sales-cycle length and how much the business can sensibly invest in testing. Avoid treating a target return as a guaranteed outcome.
Keep the initial test plan manageable. Changing the audience, offer, creative and destination at the same time makes it harder to understand what caused a change in performance. Record what each test was intended to teach you.
Review the full journey
Run through the journey on both a phone and a desktop: read the ad, visit the destination, choose a product or service and take the next step. Check what the visitor sees after the action, and who receives the enquiry.
Once campaigns are live, review lead quality and sales outcomes alongside advertising reports. Use those observations to improve the offer and website as well as the campaigns.
Put the thinking into practice.
